M WOODS Museum is an art institution co-founded by collectors Lin Han and Lei Wanying in 2014. With multiple locations in Beijing, Chengdu, and Wuxi, the museum presents a wide range of exhibitions throughout the year, alongside various public programs, including performances, music, live events, and lectures. M WOODS is dedicated to showcasing recent works by contemporary artists from China and abroad, as well as significant pieces from art history, while exploring and interpreting the responsibilities and mission of a museum within the context of contemporary culture.

M WOODS Museum has so far organized the first institutional solo exhibitions in China for artists such as Ryuichi Sakamoto, David Hockney, George Morandi, Man Ray, Bruce Nauman, Richard Tuttle, Paul McCarthy, and Martin Margiela, and has collaborated with a number of international art institutions, including Tate Modern and the British Museum. Additionally, it actively supports the development of contemporary art in China by organizing significant solo exhibitions for local artists, such as Nabuqi, Lu Yang, Chen Tianzhuo, and Liang Shaoji. Through these efforts, M WOODS provides a unique exhibition experience for the local audience. In 2015, M WOODS obtained certification as a private non-profit art institution, and in 2020, it was accredited as a museum by the National Cultural Heritage Administration.

In the summer of 2025, M WOODS will open two new locations in Beijing and Wuxi, while M WOODS Chengdu will further deepen its development.

M WOODS CHENGDU

The “century-old street”, Zitang Street, is an important part of Chengdu's Tianfu Cultural Park, where M WOODS CHENGDU is located, with Shudu Avenue in the north, People's Park, Chengdu's earliest park, across the street in the southwest. It is also in close proximity to the Sichuan Museum of Fine Arts, Chengdu Museum, Sichuan Provincial Library, Broad and Narrow Alley, Tianfu Square and other major city landmarks. The main building of the museum consists of three floors, including exhibition halls, public education spaces, as well as cafes, bookstores and other museum-related businesses. While presenting exciting exhibitions such as Ryuichi Sakamoto and Caravaggio, M WOODS Art Community uses the museum as a base to inject new vitality into the old city center's neighborhood.
